The Director will blend analytical problem solving with strategic thinking to develop insights which help shape priorities, stay ahead of the competition, and drive commercial outcomes.

Your primary area of focus in this role will be the institutional distribution market (e.g., defined benefit, endowments & foundations, defined contribution, etc.), with secondary focus on the intermediary (i.e.., financial advisor) market. You will use a range of data and other sources to proactively build forward-looking insights which help FI meet the changing needs of our clients in this space and execute on our strategic priorities. This includes monitoring investor demand trends, assessing evolving client needs, understanding competitors, and identify areas of opportunity or risk to our business.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree plus 7 - 10 years of experience in investment industry; ideally in strategy, research, distribution or product management

  • Strong understanding of the institutional investment market and key players - including asset managers, distribution channels and investment consultants

  • Knowledge of investment concepts and asset classes across both traditional and alternative strategies

  • Experience working with flows, performance and other competitive data to support product and distribution strategy, including via industry databases such as eVestment, Broadridge, Preqin

  • Proven track record of synthesizing complex analysis and research from various sources into actionable insights and practical recommendations

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including explaining sophisticated concepts in a simple, straightforward manner

  • Strong relationship building skills, with ability to work horizontally and vertically within the organization

  • Experience partnering with institutional sales, relationship management and other client-facing teams a plus

  • Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.

The Team

The Market Intelligence & Commercialization team brings together deep industry knowledge focused on elevating relevant market and competitive insights within the intermediary and institutional financial markets with a process to systematically identify and act on both near- and long-term commercial opportunities. We are focused on a culture of learning and value action, expertise, innovation, and connectivity.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$169,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

We offer a wide range of benefits to meet your evolving needs and help you live your best life at work and at home. These benefits include comprehensive health care coverage and emotional well-being support, market-leading retirement, generous paid time off and parental leave, charitable giving employee match program, and educational assistance including student loan repayment, tuition reimbursement, and learning resources to develop your career. Note, the application window closes when the position is filled or unposted.

Please be advised that Fidelity's business is governed by the provisions of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, ERISA, numerous state laws governing securities, investment and retirement-related financial activities and the rules and regulations of numerous self-regulatory organizations, including FINRA, among others. Those laws and regulations may restrict Fidelity from hiring and/or associating with individuals with certain Criminal Histories.

Fidelity's hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Working onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
