Position Summary

The Internal Communications Specialist plays an important role in the organization by performing several activities related to the company’s National Retail Business Development functions. This role is primarily responsible for, under moderate to intermittent supervision, for executing all Retail Sales communication and supporting other teams within Guild as necessary. This role supports the SVP, National Production, the SVP, Corporate Strategic Initiatives, and Retail Communication & Content Manager to ensure timely communication on field topics and programs, promotion of Retail campaigns, and recognition for top producing sales members.

Essential Functions

  • Develop communication campaigns to enhance knowledge, recognition, and relationships with sales teams across the organization.
  • Draft and submit written materials for internal newsletters, system updates, promotions for internal programs, and other various communications aimed to announce, inform, and educate employees on sales systems, accomplishments, and activities.
  • Track key milestones for the retail branches and working with the EVP of Production for recognition Enhance the Retail communications through use of video, email graphics, company intranet and more.
  • Review and edit final field communication prior to distribution.
  • Ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision.
  • Set timing of release to coordinate with company calls, events, or initiatives.
  • Collaborate across departments to develop monthly branch meeting collateral for the Retail Sales team.
  • Work to enrich the company’s position on recognition and giving back through various internal program promotion.
  • Stay up to date with new channels of communication and suggest how to reach audiences with the right information, in the right place, at the right time.
  • Initiate recommendations to improve routing and creative process and ways of improving the overall efficiencies.
  • Perform other tasks and work on other special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree in communication, marketing, or related field. Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum two years' experience in marketing or communications required.
  • Experience working in financial, marketing, or sales environment.
  • Experience working with executives preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailed oriented, strong editor and proofreader skills.
  • Eye for design and proficient at creating html emails, PowerPoint presentations and Word-based written communication materials.
  • Ability to generate independent creative ideas and complete projects with minimal direction.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills required.
  • Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service within a team environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/technological periodicals, procedures, and journals.
  • Ability to write procedure manuals.
  • Ability to be patient and train less experienced team members; respond to questions, build capability.
  • Ethical, with a commitment to company values.

Supervision

  • Job Scope: Responsible for understanding the department/functional area objectives and goals and how own job contributes to achievement of these goals; may contribute insights and ideas on policies, processes, procedures, and efficiency; may recommend changes and enhancements based on analysis and evaluation of circumstances.
  • Complexity: Problems are often complex and specialized and may involve unprecedented circumstances; resolution requires investigation, analysis and review of professional/organizational standards.
  • Impact: Decisions and actions have an impact on the smooth operation and timeframes of the department, programs/projects; impact on the broader organization is generally indirect.
  • Interaction/Supervision: Acts as a mentor/guide to less experienced professional contributor staff in a similar role; works independently and only under general direction; guided by professional standards, desired outcomes, and project plan specifications.

Requirements

Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; occasionally walks and/or stands.

Manual Dexterity:  Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Audio/Visual:  Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.

Environmental:  Office environment – no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Mental: Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow. This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities. Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

Schedules: Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
