Our client, a culinary product company, is seeking a freelance Photo Production Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis (2-3 days per week). This role focuses on organizing and maintaining photo production files while supporting the team with light copywriting tasks. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for content production.
While primarily remote, occasional in-person collaboration (NYC) may be required for specific shoots or projects. The Photo Production Assistant will be reporting to the Associate Creative Director.
Responsibilities
File Management and Organization
- Develop and maintain a structured file naming and organizational system for photo and video assets
- Ensure all production files are properly labeled, archived, and easily accessible across platforms
- Conduct regular audits of asset libraries to eliminate inconsistencies or duplication
- Collaborate with the creative team to ensure smooth workflow and accessibility of assets
Photo Production Support
- Assist in preparing and organizing assets for photo and video shoots
- Track shot lists, props, and equipment inventory to ensure production readiness
- Support the post-production process by organizing deliverables and managing revisions
Copywriting and Content Support
- Proofread and edit captions, tags, and descriptions for photo and video assets
- Draft concise, engaging copy for social media posts, product descriptions, and other short-form content
- Work with the team to align all copy with brand voice and style guidelines
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with file management systems, including Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar tools
- Basic understanding of photo and video production workflows is a plus
- Strong written communication skills; experience in copywriting or editing is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
Preferred Skills
- Experience with digital asset management systems or project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com)
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom) is a bonus
- An eye for visual content and an understanding of branding principles
