Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative assay scientist to join the Biotherapeutics Department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As a Scientist III/IV, you will be an integral member of the Screen Hub within the Antibody Generation Group. You will participate in efforts to develop and integrate cell-based functional assays including, but not limited to, reporter gene, downstream signaling, internalization, and cytotoxicity to support our drug discovery efforts for biologics. This individual will be expected to make contributions to the generation of first-in-class therapeutics to address major unmet medical needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Initiates, performs, and completes routine procedures and technical protocols in an independent and efficient manner under minimal guidance; Operates lab equipment and is independently responsible for maintenance.
* Demonstrates clear understanding of assigned tasks producing test results or reagents. Understands how these are used in antibody discovery process and insures proper reporting.
* Designs and executes non-routine experiments with minimal supervision; Independently proposes, follows up and troubleshoots experiments.
* Independently analyzes and interprets experimental data, draws conclusions with input from supervisor and technical teams, and present results internally or at project team meetings.
* Actively participates in cross-functional teams/initiatives; Demonstrates technical expertise as well as the ability to train colleagues.
* Complies with all applicable regulations; Ensures that work performed in area of responsibility is conducted in a safe and compliant manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
Requirements
Scientist III:
Master's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in related scientific discipline, OR Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
Scientist IV:
Master's degree in a related scientific discipline with 6+ years of industry experience or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years or equivalent experience in molecular/cellular biology or biochemistry.
Requirements for both levels:
* Requires a sufficient working knowledge of assay optimization and HTS execution to efficiently provide pertinent results with limited supervision.
* Experience with cell culture techniques and the implementation of cell-based assays is required.
* Hands-on experience of some assay methodologies, including HTRF/LANCE/DELFIA/AlphaLisa/MSD, and different detection technologies including FRET, luminescence (enzyme complementation), fluorescence, and absorbance.
* Industrial experience in assay development and execution is preferred. Familiarity with high-density assay plate formats and automated liquid handling devices is highly desirable.
* Experience with high-throughput flow-cytometry assay workflow is a plus.
* Experience performing assay data capture and analysis using software such as Genedata Biologics, Spotfire, and GraphPad (Prism).
* Ability to work within a collaborative team environment. Adaptability to frequent change and thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

Eligibility Requirements:
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
* Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
Compensation Data
This position offers a base salary typically between $90,000 and $147,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
