Our global pharmaceutical client is seeking a Senior Medical Editor to work with their in-house creative agency in a fulltime freelance capacity, 40 hours per week. This role will be fully remote but candidate must work EST hours. The medical editing team is a flexible team of best-in-class medical editors dedicated to accuracy, efficiency, and clarity.
The successful candidate must have experience editing and annotating pharmaceutical promotional materials and possess a thorough understanding of the medical legal regulatory (MLR) review process. The Sr. Medical Editor will be responsible for reviewing content across all phases of the job and ensuring accuracy for MLR submission.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare jobs for successful MLR review
- Annotating and referencing
- Anchoring/linking using Veeva Vault PromoMats
- Copyedit promotional materials for grammar, punctuation, and spelling
-Ensure materials comply with AMA style, brand guidelines, and FDA rules and regulations
- Validate references to ensure they are current and meet reference criteria
- Fact check content against source material
- Collaborate with project manager, account manager, designer, copywriter, and other medical copyeditors as needed
- Manage own brand alignment and assist other medical editors as needed
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience editing and annotating pharmaceutical promotional materials, preferably within an agency environment
- Must have pharma agency experience, either in-house or in a traditional agency setting
- Thorough understanding of the MLR process
- Bachelor's degree in related field (eg English, journalism, life sciences)
- Experience working across a range of therapeutic areas and product launches is a plus
Nice to have:
- Experience anchoring/linking in Veeva Vault PromoMats
- Previously attended MLR meetings
