This position is responsible for shipping and delivery of prescription drugs to Wedgewood Pharmacy customers and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and devices and proper waste removal in the compounding department in accordance with all relevant state and federal regulations. The associate accomplishes these tasks through working with Wedgewood’s management team and all other staff employees in fulfilling his/her responsibilities and duties.
When will you work?
- The hours for this position are Mon- Friday 8:15am-5:15pm
What you’ll do:
- Verifies package contents to ensure that the prescription name and address match the receipt and the outside label, then packaging those items in the appropriate shipping container.
- Stocks and restocks the daily essential in the shipping department.
- Maintains a clean atmosphere and work area
- Ensures adequate inventory levels, ordering of supplies if needed
- Fills ice chest with cold packs
- Cleaning, emptying trash cans
- Maintain systems for disposal, storage, and removal of all full lab waste containers.
- Maintain systems for daily, weekly, and/or monthly cleaning of compounding equipment, and devices including, but not limited to, removable machine parts, glassware, reusable supplies / containers, and small scale equipment.
- Maintain systems for storage and care of above mentioned compounding items.
- Maintain systems for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of compounding department including, but not limited to, floors, mats, countertops, trash cans, air vents, window and door sills, door knobs, interior windows, eye wash stations, furniture, and chemical storage room.
- Distribute compounding equipment, supplies, and devices to compounding staff.
- Train any additional staff on above responsibilities as needed.
- Evaluate condition and supply of current equipment and recommend any improvements.
- Work directly with Compounding supervisors to ensure all equipment and work areas are properly cleaned and functioning in order to eliminate any product contamination.
- Follow all Wedgewood’s policies and procedures and recommend any improvements.
- Support all facets of Wedgewood’s operations as necessary to ensure high quality customer service, safety, and effective workflow within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management, pharmacist or shift leader
