Position Summary

The Visual Production Specialist plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of creative activities directly related to the company’s Corporate Marketing functions. The role is responsible, under direct supervision and laddering up to the SVP CMO, for creating content related to social media, internal needs, and external needs that offer value, build trust and encourage interaction between Guild customers, loan officers and leadership team. Beyond that, the value add is to attract potential consumers and industry professionals to join Guild. This role will be looked to as an expert in the field of video production under their supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • 65% of role will be video editing
    • Reviews, evaluates, edits, and cuts footage so that the final version tells a story or communicates information as planned by producers or directors. Refines audio through sound mixing, scoring, or other postproduction Reviews content for accuracy. May assist with pre-production planning. Maintains files of projects. Utilizes video editing software to add additional graphics, sounds, or images.
    • Edits include the areas of corporate social media, internal messaging, external marketing campaigns, event coverage, and more.
  • 25% will be filming
    • Operates a camera to film desired content for usage on appropriate channels and generates lighting, audio, special effects, and background images for productions as needed. May be responsible for implementing real time audio for webinars, podcasts, or related purposes.
    • Creates schedules, develops scripts, and selects locations or talent.
  • 10% based on other creative disciplines
    • Depending on the applicant, they will be asked to exercise on other creative disciplines depending on their skill set. Photography, animation, or design apply.
  • Develop and implement marketing content including story development and high quality video to attract consumers and industry professionals to Guild website, online presence and promote online products or services.
  • Perform effective intake and discovery of business needs, unique selling propositions and image selection as needed. Work directly with company stakeholders as needed.
  • Actively use Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Edit all types of videos: short-form, long-form, interviews, promos, etc.
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and standards, with the purpose of helping the organization present a consistent and unified brand; and educate and support others to stay on-brand.
  • Work effectively within a high-performing results-oriented team of creative talent, including graphic designers and outside vendors that assist Guild in creating video and photo assets.
  • Work to enrich the company’s position on a national level, with sensitivity to regional and local requirements for customization.
  • Source in-house collaborators (support crew for assistance with shoots, cast members and talent selection for video concepts) as needed.
  • Ensure a culture of collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with teammates on platforms such as Outlook, teams, and other platforms as needed.
  • Act as a liaison with agencies, and vendors to communicate requirements and change requests.
  • Maintain positive relationships with team members, internal clients, resources, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, or Marketing, video production, or field related to the position or equivalent, required.
    • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.
    • Minimum three years' experience gained in the video production space. Experience gained as a college student or worker is acceptable.
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. This role requires the employee to handle multiple editing timelines that have different creative needs, stakeholders, and delivery styles. 

    • Ability to work well independently or within a team. The employee will work not only with their direct supervisor, but with other creative teammates, marketing stakeholders, and potentially outside vendors.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Communication is a must! Over-communication is more like it!
    • Visual Acuity
      • This employee will need to be able to distinguish between difference in color, light, and shadow both on large scale and in minute detail.
      • The employee will need to be comfortable viewing screens of multiple sizes for multiple hours along with EVFs of camera systems.
      • Exposure to flashing light is a possibility of the role.
    • Auditory Acuity
      • The employee will need to differentiate between multiple types of sounds to a high degree of specificity.
      • The will be subject to loud environments at times, at events like conferences and sales rallies, or in the field capturing video footage.
    • Physical Needs
      • Standing for long periods of time (1+ hours) will be needed upon request.
      • The need to walk, stand, bend, and, at some points, crawl may be necessary.
      • Applicants must be able to lift film equipment of various sizes and weights, up to 45lbs in some cases. Extreme cases of heavy lifting would be handled accordingly to ensure physical safety of all.
      • Exposure to outdoor elements such as sun and heat, cold, wind, and rain can occur in order to complete various video tasks.
      • The ability to drive a motor vehicle in different times of day.
      • Dexterity of hands to use different film equipment.
    • Attuned to popular culture, voice, and tone; and adaptable to different business and cultural contexts.
    • High proficiency with camera equipment and lighting for photography and video.
    • Comfortable with DSLR or cinema cameras (Sony gear is a plus).
    • A portfolio that shows us your work and gives us an idea of your style and creativity.
    • Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service within a team environment.
    • Possesses a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
    • A knack for storytelling through video and an eye for detail.
    • Motion graphics, photography, or design skills a We love versatility.
    • You’re able to work independently and be super organized—remote work means you need to be self-driven. But don’t worry, the adjustment to remote work can be hard for You’ll have help along the way!

    Requirements

    Physical: The position requires the ability to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds for various office needs.

    Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards

    Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.

    Environmental: Exposure to outdoor weather elements will occur such as sun, heat, cold, wind, and rain.

    Mental: Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow. This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities. Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

    Schedules: Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday.

    Travel: 10 - 20%
